Work With A View

Working in Development come along with its fair share of difficulties and perks, one of the perks being traveling to the districts and engaging with different grass-root level communities. The people of this particular village- Phulbari, treat me like one of their own and while working together I have formed a bond with them that has made traveling and working with the community there a much easy and comfortable.

View from Phulbari - Magical
Phulabari is a top a hill on the way to Bhakundey Besi of Kavre. On a clear day the view from up here is amazing, the view of the himalaya range, the floating cloud and the wide spread green lush - it is almost magical.

The Original Milk
So, like I've mentioned earlier one of the other perks of field visit is the pure and organic food. It is very unlikely to find pure organic food in the city, but the villages have a different story all together. And trust be you when I say you will never be able to find milk as pure and raw as in the villages!

Local Pop-corn
If you think the packaged popcorns are yummy, you sure haven't tried the local popcorns yet. Be it boiled, fried or popped, corn is a very common snack here in the villages and also in the city. But popcorn made on a mud vessel and over firewood is filled with unique flavors that is totally worth indulging in.

I always learn something new during my field visits. This time while going around the village I encountered a very weird looking insect. It was my first time seeing this particular insect and I wouldn't even notice it if someone else hadn't point it out to me. I learned that if this insect makes noises then it is suppose to be a bad omen, it was very interesting that people still believe in such superstitions.

Dhulikhel - Day View
Blurry Lights
Another perk of traveling away from the city is always the view. I have always been fascinated by lights, specially the night view of all the flickering and still lights from above the hills is breath taking.

There is always something so calm and serene about the hills that take away all the anxiety and wary. Field visits always means healthy food, fresh pollution free air, interesting people, beautiful nature and healthy mind. But it also means early mornings, bumpy roads and crazy workload, but nonetheless it is always an adventure.

Until the next field visit and until the next blog post.
To finding little adventures and making memories.
